Always liked Tolkien’s ring story:

This is the story of another kind of ring though.  So, isn’t the ring supposed to come first before anything else?  You might think so.  Not so much in our case.  After I popped the big question, Deb and I talked about the ring.  It really is HER ring, but then I like to think of myself as the jewelry expert.  I’ve dabbled in colored and semi-precious stones for years, but she keeps asking “…And which finger will YOU be wearing this ring on?…”

Well, yesterday, I ordered it.  Of course after much discussion, perusing those ‘Bride’ magazines, and looking for just what she might find perfect, we came upon a very nice design.  Unfortunately, it was a design by Cartier.   Ouch!

Here’s a link to Cartier’s version of the ring, but my friend Michael from Fantasy Jewelers will make Deb her own version.  Hopefully it will be as beautiful as the ring on the web site.

At any rate, we will see.  The ring has been ordered and when it’s done, a bundle of cash later, we’ll post a pic of the real thing.  Wish me luck on this…
